San Antonio is the 2nd largest city in Texas and the 7th largest city in the United States. It is home to the Alamo where early Texans fought for Texas Indepence from Mexico. The Texans fighting at the Alamo were slaugtered by the Mexican army led by General Santa Anna. The Texans gave their lives to buy time for General Sam Houston to organize and equip his troops who soon after defeated Santa Anna at the Battle of San Jacino located in Houston. San Antonio’s population is about 1.4 million. It is home to the NBA San Antonio Spurs Basketball team. San Antonio is a top tourist attractions for Texans who regularly make the pilgramage to the Alamo and eat plenty of authentic Tex-Mex food in San Antonio’s world class restaurants along with San Antonio River Walk. Texans and visitors from every State in the union and Mexico come to San Antonio to set in a café or restaurant by the River that flows through downtown San Antonio, eating Mexican food and enjoying themselves with their entire familes. Many amusement attractions are nearby including Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Sea World and Hemisphere Park.
